Project at a Glance

Context

The work concerned Comet Fans' industrial thermal-management software environment, where embedded behavior, device interfaces, desktop tooling, telemetry, alarms, configuration, and service workflows had to operate as one understandable system.

The Challenge

The engineering problem went beyond writing firmware. The system needed reliable control around sensor and actuator signals, communication with service software, operating-state monitoring, diagnostic evidence for faults, structured logs, manual-control workflows, and update workflows that could be tested and documented without exposing proprietary implementation details.

What Was Done

Embedded control

Developed and maintained firmware responsibilities around device behavior, sensor inputs, actuator control, operating-state monitoring, and alarm conditions.

Communication

Connected device behavior with higher-level tooling through Ethernet communication and documented interface expectations.

Desktop service software

Worked on Java desktop/service software used around configuration, diagnostics, telemetry access, logs, manual control, and firmware-management workflows.

Diagnostics and telemetry

Structured diagnostic and telemetry paths so technical users could inspect system state without relying on proprietary internals in public material.

Testing and documentation

Prepared test-oriented and documentation-oriented work that made the system easier to verify and maintain across hardware and software boundaries.

Contribution

Artava's founder developed and maintained embedded and application-level software, integrated device communication with service and diagnostic tools, implemented telemetry, alarm, configuration, and logging workflows, connected firmware behavior with Java desktop software, and supported testing, documentation, and system integration.

Outcome

  • Connected embedded control with service software workflows.
  • Improved access to diagnostics, telemetry, alarms, and operating data.
  • Created a maintainable base for testing, configuration, logging, and future firmware-management work.
